Alabama Required Workplace Posters
Child Labor Law
The Alabama Child Labor Law poster is vital for employers as it outlines regulations regarding minors under 18. It covers age restrictions, work hour limits, record-keeping, prohibited occupations, and inspections. By displaying this poster, employers can ensure compliance and protect young workers' rights.
Unemployment Insurance
The "Your Job Insurance (Unemployment Compensation)" poster informs workers that they may be eligible for benefits if they become unemployed under certain conditions.
It emphasizes that benefits may be denied if an individual voluntarily leaves their job without good cause or is discharged for cause.
Workers are urged to ensure their correct social security number is used. Contact information for filing a claim and obtaining general information is provided. The poster is required to be displayed conspicuously.
Unemployment Insurance Fraud
The "Alabama - Unemployment Compensation – Fraud" poster highlights that fraud related to unemployment compensation is a crime. It provides examples of fraudulent activities, such as making false statements to obtain benefits or working while receiving benefits.
The poster warns of severe penalties, including up to a Class B Felony, fines of up to $500, and up to 12 months in jail for each fraudulent week claimed. It emphasizes that fraud is equivalent to stealing and can result in mandatory ineligibility for up to a two-year period.
A hotline number is provided for reporting fraud, and the penalties mentioned are subject to Section 25-4-145 of the Code of Alabama (1975).
Workers' Compensation
Must be completed by employer
The "Workers Compensation Notice" poster informs employees about workers' compensation in Alabama. It advises them to notify their employer immediately if injured or contracting an occupational disease. The employer will direct them to an authorized physician for medical treatment.
The poster lists the workers' compensation insurance carrier's name and telephone number. It also mentions the availability of assistance and mediation services under the Alabama Workers' Compensation Law.
The poster provides contact information for the Alabama Department of Labor's Workers' Compensation Division. Alabama Code § 25-5-290(d) requires this notice to be posted conspicuously in one or more places in businesses.

Unemployment Insurance - Partial
The "Unemployment Compensation – Partial" poster informs workers who are temporarily laid off and earning less than their usual weekly gross earnings that they can request their employer to file a claim for partial benefits. The use of the computerized partial claim system helps expedite the payment process.
Workers are advised to notify their employer of any changes in name, address, or gross earnings from another employer. The poster emphasizes that employers filing automated partial claims are not required to submit a claim for individuals earning equal to or exceeding $275, the current maximum weekly benefit amount in Alabama.
Contact information for the Alabama Department of Labor is provided, and employers are required to display the poster conspicuously.
